Name: Katherine Pennington
Katherine is a graduate of the Institute of Integrative Nutrition/ Columbia Teachers College in New York City and is certified by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners. Katherine is a certified raw food chef and teacher, and has her raw food certification through Allisa Cohen and Natalia Rose. Katherine is a founding member of Women for Family Nutrition, an organization dedicated to helping our children get fed better in schools as well as our own homes. While pregnant with her first child 8 years ago, a friend took Katherine to her first yoga class at Jivamukti Yoga, and she was hooked. She has been practicing yoga with Dharma Mittra, Kelly Morris and at Jivamukti Yoga among others for the past 8 years. Practicing yoga has given her a deeper understanding of her body and the role food and nutrition plays in her life. Katherine is also an avid runner and began training for marathons, and qualified for the Boston marathon with a time of 3:15. She works with many clients who live very active lives and is experienced in advising athletes. Katherine loves to be active and encourage others to get themselves and their families out there exercising together! Katherine has been featured in Real Simple magazine, has a regular monthly column at online magazineThe Family Groove and regularly speaks and holds lectures at womenâ€™s groups as well as private schools around New York City. Katherine is a mother to two beautiful children, Caroline and Oliver and is passionate about children and their nutrition. She lives on the Upper East Side in New York City.
