Why Diets Don’t work
We often hear that a celebrity has gotten into amazing shape with the new trendy diet, or that your friend has lots tons of weight in a short period of time. Â When you are wanting to lose weight, falling into the â€œdiet trapâ€ can be very tempting, especially living a society that is very obsessed with dieting. However, dieting can cause more disadvantages than advantages.
Here are my top reasons why diets don’t work
1)Â Â No matter how trendy or how well the diet is seemingly documented, diets only work in the short run.Â Results are immediate, however, once you are no longer on a diet, you will gain the weight back, and likely more. Diets don’t focus on thoughts, emotions, behaviors, or lifestyles
2)Â Â Diets can lead you to feeling deprived. When you feel you â€œcan’tâ€ have a particular food, you will want it more.Â This can lead to intense cravings, having obsessive thoughts about food, and could lead to binging.
3)Â Â Diets eliminate food groups. Your body needs a variety of foods from all food groups and that includes Carbs!Â Your body needs minerals, and vitamins and other nutrients to function efficiently.
4)Â Â Diets can make a person hungrier. Not eating enough calories, will actually make your body store fat not lose it.
5)Â Â Diets don’t make a person confident, happy or beautiful. Feeling confident and attractive means taking care of your mind, body and soul. Feeling glamorous and confident comes with any size.
Learning to love and accept yourself just as you are will give you self-confidence, better health, and a sense of well-being that will last a lifetime.
